Joana Dias was born in Lisbon, Portugal on March 22, 1989 and it was early in her life that she found a connection to the arts.

Best known for her alter-ego, pseudonym “Shinobinaku” which she possesses for about 6 years when she discovered digital art. Artistically self-taught, her art is a symbioses of literature, cinema and music, everything that surrounds her and inspires her, being filtered through her mind, creating an hybrid world; beautiful but monstrous, frail but deadly.

Professionally, she works with various artists around the world, making art covers for books and music albums.

Despite her young age, she gained a great deal of supporters on the five corners of the globe, being published on magazines from the USA to Indonesia and participating in books such as “Vampire Art Now” from the popular series of Ilex Press (front cover) and “The Digital Art Techniques Manual for Illustrators and Artists” from Quarto Press (to be published next year, January 2012).

As a future project she’s planning on publishing her own graphic novel, which will include the best of her creations along with literary pieces inspired by them and creating her own jewellery line also incorporating her digital works.
